just found my newest music obsession and just in time for finals week. Time to start listening to The Staves. It’s kinda like Fleet Foxes took on female form, stole Jillian Edward/Priscilla Ahn’s voice, and started a new band haha

A 24-minute-long jam session with Justin Vernon & Sean Carey (from Bon Iver) playing stripped down/reinvented versions of  ”Hinnom, TX,” “Wash,” “I Can’t Make You Love Me” (bonnie raitt cover) “Babys,” and “Beth/Rest.”  They took all these and re-arranged them in the most simple and beautiful of ways. Two pianos. Two voices. awesome. This is the stripped version of Bon Iver, which I might argue, is them at their best. SO GOOD. You have to watch the whole thing. No excuses.

Bon Iver performing Beth/Rest on SNL from this past weekend. This song is so powerful live. Also, the audio engineering on this is pristine. I love how they mixed it- the drums are so incredibly powerful. If you have good headphones/speakers, please use them. [This song is too good to listen to on your laptop’s speakers…] Also, the 4:16 mark- oh my goodness. so much emotion. so much goodness. so awesome. enjoy.

A SCAD Motion Graphics/Animation alumni directed, co-produced, shot, and edited Nefarious: Merchant of Souls, this documentary about sex slavery. Educate yourself on the 27 million people enslaved today and do something about it now. PRAY. Spread the word. Share this video. Do your part. 

Here’s something I filmed last week with my cousins, Cole and Cameron. We spent Christmas afternoon out on the ranch; I filmed, they rode. Though it was cold, there was snow melting all around, and it turned out to be a lot of fun. Some of the terrain is black and barren from fire burns this past summer and added a cool contrast being juxtaposed with the snow. I shot about half of the footage in this; Cole shot the other half and did all the editing as well. shot on a 7D and GoPro cameras. enjoy!
